If You Can't Make It There . . .

.
My home state of New York has avoided any serious consideration, much less passage of, the Intelligent Design legislation that was introduced in the State Assembly (our lower house).

According to the National Center for Science Education report, Republican Assemblyman Daniel L. Hooker's intention in introducing the bill was more to spark discussion than to pass the bill, which he admitted was "religion based."
Moreover, Hooker is not planning on seeking a third term in the Assembly due to his military commitments: he is expected to be on active duty with the Marine Corps until at least early 2007.
Despite any disagreement about I might have with him about science, I wish him well and hope he returns safe and sound from his service.
