School Admissions
In what can be fairly described as the Family Broen Show, the Highlands County Florida School Board members managed to avoid making fools of themselves ... in public at least.John Broen, who has a Ph.D. in microbiology, Elizabeth Broen, who is now teaching at the college level but was a teacher in the school district for five years, and Kelly Broen, a student at Hill-Gustat Middle School, all spoke before the board. What interested me most was that John Broen asked the question that I've been asking:
... "what theories are you advocating being presented in the scientific curriculum?"... along with the ID horse it rode in on.
After a pause, [School Board Chairman J. Ned] Hancock replied, "I don't think you are going to get that answer."
Broen said, "since the resolution states there are other theories to be presented to the student, yet the board members have failed to produce them, then it seems this resolution must be discarded."

You know that everybody hates 'em in whatever part of Highland they live in. Snooty professors and their curve-bustin' kids! Kelly bringin' up how she attended summer science camp for gifted students at Purdue University last summer just to rub the board members noses in the fact that she's smarter than them.
Okay, I'm just projecting but I hope that most of Florida has an inferiority complex now.
