The Eyes Have It
Why is this whole debate about Intelligent Design even important? Because Scripture tells us the natural world is a billboard for God’s existence, if only you have the eyes to see it. Check out these passages from the Bible:
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world (Psalm 19:1-4).
Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse (Romans 1:19-20).The freedom to follow the scientific evidence down whatever road it leads, including the road that points to an Intelligent Designer, is a deep-seated longing in the human soul!
All of which is perfectly acceptable, if primitive, theology. The only question is why they think they can just squint their eyes at the Constitution and get their theology taught in public schools at taxpayer expense?
