Countdown


In the category of "Nothin' gets past dem IDeologists" (from The Florida Times-Union, via Florida Citizens for Science:

"I'd say someone in the House, in the name of trying to push this bill, is actually trying to kill it," said John West, senior fellow at the Discovery Institute, a Seattle-based organization that developed a model evolution-debate law that was the basis for Florida's legislation.

"If nothing passes, I think there will be a lot of explaining to do," he said.

Uh, huh. Now what exactly could be better for good science education than a little internecine warfare between the Religious Right and the Corporate Right?

Just one more day stands between the children of Florida and at least a chance at getting a 21st century education.
