When Science Based Medicine Goes Bad

Well, I had my surgical procedure and am recovering nicely now. I'll probably be napping quite a lot for the next few days but I just thought I'd let my select group of readers know that I'm still here ... whether you like it or not.

"Whether you like it or not."

I'll take Door #3, Alex. (Wait--"Alex" ain't right, is it.)

I'm part of a select group...

I like THAT.

We like it and you too!

Hope you make a speedy recovery!

Speedy recovery!

I hope they gave you some really, really, really good drugs! that's the best part of surgery, imho. Oh yeah, then there's that part about improvement or cure. Recover soon, best regards.

You're the dapper guy at the right in the photo, correct?

The procedure I had was a carotid endarterectomy. You figure out what I look like about now. ;-)

I hope you're back on your feet soon!

Huzzah for science-based medicine! Huzzah for lower risk of stroke! Huzzah for John's continued survival in a non-vegetative state!

Glad ye made it, laddie, and I hope the recovery's enjoyable. Although that last depends on what they gave ye. ;-)

Ah? I had one of those several years ago. I refer to it as "I had my throat cut." :)

Not only did I find that to be an apt description, but it was done to a cripple to boot. One of the nurses asked me if I was ready for the procedure and I said I don't have much choice. She said I could run away but then I pulled back the covers to show her my foot.

Thanks to all for the good wishes.

Glad to hear everything went well. Hope you're soon out of Sickbay and back at your post.

I like it. Glad you came through OK.
