I didn't think the EC was ever in doubt, but in order to prevent the denialists from yelling and screaming BHO needed 50%+ of the vote...and he got it (phew!).
 
Not a sports fan, so election nights are one of the few occasions I am moved to yell at the TV.

One thing worth mentioning was the victory of Nate Silver's (FiveThirtyEight) mathematics over bloviation.
