Lying Liars Lie
Once again, the Discovery Institute "celebrates" the Fourth of July by lying through its teeth.
Once again, it is an attempt to appropriate the reputation of Thomas Jefferson in support of Intelligent Design Creationism. There is nothing new about this. The only difference is this time it is Stephen C. Meyer who is prevaricating.
There is a concept in the law: falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus. In essence, it means, if people are willing to lie about one thing, they are likely willing to lie about everything.
Myer's Signature in the Cell is supposed to be the "Book that Changes Everything." Instead, the fact that Myer is willing to lie about Jefferson is good reason to think that he is willing to lie about ID and evolutionary theory in general. Rational people need not spend a lot of time going through Myer's bloated screed (especially when others are working on it) when he pronounces his willingness to lie!
He has clearly proclaimed his character ... or, rather, the lack of it ... and there is no great need to further explore that subject. He has told us everything we need to know about him and his book.
